FAQ

There’s no language setting inside InvenDo: it follows your phone’s language. Change the phone’s language (or the order of your preferred languages) and the app switches next time it starts. InvenDo speaks 23 languages — English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Ukrainian. Any other phone language gets English.

I paid for Premium but my new phone doesn’t show it

Section titled “I paid for Premium but my new phone doesn’t show it”

Sign in with the same InvenDo account and make sure the phone uses the same Google Play or App Store account you bought with. Then open the menu ☰ → Subscriptions → ⋮ → Restore purchases. See Free vs Premium.

☰ → Subscriptions → ⋮ → Manage takes you to the subscription in Google Play or the App Store, where you cancel it. Premium stays until the paid period ends. A Lifetime purchase has nothing to cancel, and uninstalling the app cancels nothing.

Is my data backed up? How do I move to a new phone?

Section titled “Is my data backed up? How do I move to a new phone?”

If you’re signed in with Google or Apple, your lists live in the cloud: install InvenDo on the new phone, sign in, and everything is there. For a file you can keep, use ⋮ → Export to Excel on each tab. If you use InvenDo without an account (Android), your items exist only on that phone — tap ☰ → Log in before you switch. See Accounts and sign-in.

Yes — web.invendo.app, in any modern browser, for Premium accounts. There’s no separate desktop app. See InvenDo on the web.

How do I report a bug or suggest something?

Section titled “How do I report a bug or suggest something?”

☰ → Questions or suggestions. Choose Bug report, Feedback, Suggestion or Question, and your email app opens with a message addressed to us that already includes the app version and your device — add what happened and send. No email app? The text is copied to the clipboard; paste it into any mail you like. You can also write through the contact page.

Three possibilities: adding photos is a Premium feature; Settings → Images → Disable Images is on; or the list’s ⋮ → View OptionsShow FieldsImages is off — it starts off. See Viewing and finding items.

On the free plan, only your main list can be edited; extra lists you created with Premium become read-only when it ends — nothing is deleted. Lists other people share with you are never read-only. See Multiple lists.

To empty a list, select everything with Select items and Delete, or import an Excel file with Replace the existing list. To remove an extra list entirely, use Manage → Lists. To remove your account and everything in it, Settings → General → Delete Account — that one can’t be undone. See Accounts and sign-in.

Yes. You can browse and edit without a connection; changes are sent when you’re back online, and the same goes for anyone you share with. What needs a connection: signing in, adding photos, looking up barcodes online, and importing from Excel.

What’s the “A new update is available” banner?

Section titled “What’s the “A new update is available” banner?”

InvenDo checks for a newer version when it starts and shows the banner at most once a day. Update installs it (or opens the store); Dismiss hides it. After you update, a What’s new card shows what changed — the same notes as the changelog.

Your lists are stored in your account on Google’s Firebase cloud, and shared only with the people you invite. When a barcode is looked up online, only the barcode is sent — see Product lookup. The app collects anonymous usage and crash statistics to help us fix problems. The full privacy policy is one tap away under ☰.

Why do notifications, the scanner settings or the widget not appear?

Section titled “Why do notifications, the scanner settings or the widget not appear?”

Reminders and barcode scanning aren’t available in the web version. Scanner settings and the home-screen widget exist on Android only; iPhone uses one built-in scanner with no settings to tune.

Barcode lookup doesn’t find anything in my country

Section titled “Barcode lookup doesn’t find anything in my country”

Online lookup is offered only for some language-and-region combinations — see the list in Product lookup. Scanning still works everywhere; you just type the name yourself the first time.

Your phone or browser has no speech recognition InvenDo can use. Typing works as usual.

I had to sign in again after reinstalling on my iPhone

Section titled “I had to sign in again after reinstalling on my iPhone”

That’s by design on iOS after a fresh install. Your lists are safe in your account; sign in and they’re back.
